Kernel Global are pleased to announce the appointment of James Wakefield as Group Head of International.

Literacy Capital is a private investment fund set up in 2017 whose Chairman, Paul Pindar, who co-founded Capita plc in 1987. Paul was integral in increasing Capita’s valuation from £330,000 to £8.5 billion in 2014 at the time of his retirement.
James joins Kernel from Cobalt, a global recruitment company specialising in recruiting for the professional built environment space, where he was central to growing Cobalt’s overseas operations from zero to representing over 75% of the firm’s revenue. In doing so, James spent eight years overseas before returning to the UK to become the business’s first CEO in 2017. Cobalt was named APSCo International Recruitment Company of the Year in 2017/2018 and James currently heads APSCo’s International Forum.
James’ experience leading fast-growing operations will enable him to effectively establish and execute a growth strategy that propels the international expansion of Kernel’s partner businesses – realising their potential and allowing them to effectively compete on a global stage.
